The Mallala Museum held an exhibition of wedding gowns from their collection during History Month May 2018. The event called "Down the Aisle - Wedding dresses through the years" featured 19 gowns displayed throughout the museum.
Rae Arney married Ralph Crawford in the Grace Plains Methodist Church on the 14th February 1942. Rae made her own full length gown of cream figured silk crepe. The bodice featured a high V neckline and had panels with gathering over the bust. The bodice dipped to a rounded V at centre front. The gown had long fitted sleeves finishing in a point at the wrist. There were 28 covered buttons at the centre back and the flared skirt flowed to incorporate a train.
