The Mallala Museum held an exhibition of wedding gowns from their collection during History Month May 2018. The event called "Down the Aisle - Wedding dresses through the years" featured 19 gowns displayed throughout the museum.
Ruth Baker married Bruce Jenkin in the Windsor Methodist church on 13th June 1952. Ruth's wedding gown was made of ivory satin and featured a wide tulle yoke edged with a tulle frill and Peter pan collar. The bodice was fitted and the sleeves long and tight fitting. The full circular skirt dipped into a long train and the hemline edged with a tulle frill. Ruth's head piece comprised a lace beaded cap to which the short veil was attached.
