The Mallala Museum held an exhibition of wedding gowns from their collection during History Month May 2018. The event called "Down the Aisle - Wedding dresses through the years" featured 19 gowns displayed throughout the museum.

Jean Oliver married Laurie Tucker in the Woolsheds Methodist Church (near Wasleys S.A.) on 14th March 1928. The ivory coloured dress was made of Georgette with a silk lining. It was embroidered with a metallic thread and the thread also created a pattern on panels in the skirt finishing with a knee length handkerchief hemline. The bodice had a round neck line with a drop waist in a blouson style. There was an interesting back/side draping. The gown was sleeveless. With this gown Jean wore a beautiful long veil that fell gracefully into a train. It was made of Honiton lace and was secured across the forehead with orange blossom. The interesting dress is now in fragile condition as over the years the georgette has in places deteriorated and the metallic thread has darkened.
