The Mallala Museum held an exhibition of wedding gowns from their collection during History Month May 2018. The event called "Down the Aisle - Wedding dresses through the years" featured 19 gowns displayed throughout the museum.
Maureen Griffiths married Ron Tucker in the Mallala Methodist Church on August 10th 1951. Her ivory embossed satin gown had a fitted bodice that dipped to a V at centre front and featured a row of covered buttons and material loops. It had a neat collar and long fitted sleeves finishing in a point over the wrists. The full circular skirt fell gracefully into a train. The embroidered net veil was held in place with a tiara of pearls. The two bridesmaids wore pink gowns of lace and net. On display was the flower girl dress worn by Maureen's young sister June. It was made by Maureen in a style similar to the bridesmaid's dresses.
