Rae Arney married Ralph Crawford in the Grace Plains Methodist Church on the 14th February 1942. Rae made her own full length gown of cream figured silk crepe. The high V neck bodice dipped to a rounded V at centre front and the bodice had panels with gathering over the bust. The gown had long fitted sleeves finishing in a point at the wrist. There were 28 covered buttons at the centre back and the flared skirt flowed to incorporate a train.
