I was Eileen Crawford born to Ralph and Rae Crawford on the 7th December 1942. I went to the Grace Plains school until grade 5 and then we changed schools to Long Plains. The frarm was the same distance from both schools and while we went to church at Grace Plains our mail etc was at the Long Plains so it was less travel for mum and dad. My mum went to the Grace Plains School and my grandparents Lindsay and Joy Arney lived in the home on the same side of the road a little further down towards Mallala. Mum and Dad met through attending Grace Plains church and were married in that church as I was too. I was reading about the Grace Plains school and when talking about my childhood to people ling up and checking our hands certainly did happen and I remember many of us picking a 'prickle' I do not know what the hedge actually was but there was a point on the end of the piece we picked and we used to clean our finger nails. It brought a smile to my face when I read this! Eileen
