The sixth annual show was held on September 28 in a paddock adjoining Shirmer's Family Hotel. The day was fine but cold. The show as regards the exhibits and the visitors surpassed previous events. Cheap Jack, Merry-Go-Round, Aunt Sally and other games were all doing.a fair trade  The horse exhibits were judged as exceptional for a country show and Mr. Worden's colt Nimrod gained a special mention for a country show .

and Mr. Worden's colt Nimrod gained a special mention for a country show . Sheep were well represented, there being 20 entries in all classes. The prizes were divided among Messrs.R. Marshman, Moody, Temby and Churches.

There were 8 entries in the cows in milk section,Mr. J. Forbes taking first prize and Mr. Farrelly second. The exhibitions in the booth were all good , consisting of dairy produce, wheat, vegetables, poultry and three splendid collections of harness,Mr. T.
H.Lawrence taking first prize. Mr. Taplin's wheat weighing 62 1/2 lbs.won first prize in that section.  More than twenty prizes were in the large amount of entries for horses.

Other entries included Swine , Horned Cattle, Poultry, Dairy Produce and Implements.  Mrs. S. Chivell best six pounds of butter was outstanding as was Mrs. Gameau"s pair of hams and Mrs. T. Jury"s dozen eggs.
A Banquet was held at Schirmer's Family Hotel in the evening in a shed especially erected for the occasion and served up in great style by Mrs. Schirmer.  Toasts were proposed to the "Queen and the Governor", The Parliament", "Town and Trade of Mallala" etc. The Gawler Town  Band played for the large crowd present.
