At the corner of Dublin Rd and Railway Tce. a weighbridge was installed and used by farmers to determine the weight of their loads. The weighbridge was owned and managed by the Council.  In the mid 1950’s during harvest council personnel operated the bridge and for the remainder of the year the job was contracted out to private operators. At a later date the weighbridge was relocated at the end of Railway Tce adjacent to gates that lead to the railway lines. A weighbridge, which was more adequately able to service the community, was built at the silos by Cooperative Bulk Handling. This led to the eventual removal of the weighbridge adjacent to the railway yard gates.
