The land for the present park, which is vested in the District Council, was purchased in 1915 with the exception of the portion used as a children's playground which was added in 1931. The ground is ideal in area and situation for the purpose for which it is required, and compares most favourably with the parks possessed by most country towns in the state of South Australia.

The pavillion (also known as the Grand Stand) has a seating capacity for over 200 people, and the dressing rooms beneath are complete with showers and other conveniences. There are three tennis courts and a croquet lawn, and the playing area of the oval is level and suitable for either cricket or football. This area is circled by a cycling track.

The committee of management consists of one member appointed by each sporting body using the ground and two representatives appointed by the council.
