The first South Australian Housing Trust homes in Gawler were constructed at Ey Grove. In the foreground is Barnet Road, with Heaslip Road in the distance. The property appearing in the bottom right corner is the site of W G Payne’s residence.

As this wonderful door surround is in a private area of the Hotel, understandably, it is not available for the public to view. However, we are indebted to Mr Matthew Binns, Director of Old Spot Hotel Gawler for giving us the permission to show this photograph on our Wiki so that the world can see the windows and marvel at their workmanship and beauty.
