Frank Spencer Charles Day was the teacher at Korunye School from 1949-1952. He was born at Mallala in 1894, and the family moved to Nangari near Loxton, prior to 1916, when Frank joined the AIF.  He served in the 27th Battalion, was wounded in France in 1918 and finally arrived back in South Australia in 1919.  He had a leg amputated and was not comfortable with an artificial limb, so always used crutches for walking.  He was teacher at Pinkerton Plains in 1923.  Throughout his teaching career he moved around the state of South Australia including time at Reeves Plains (1931-1933) and Avon (1939-1946).
