The Pinery Hall, purchased from Thomas Laurie for 30 Pounds in 1936 was the former school building.
An organization, the Pinery Centenary Hall Project was formed and officers elected" Mr T Dunstan(president) Ronald Williams and Alfred Wedding (vice presidents) G. West and D. Bird (joint secretaries) Harold Laurie (Treasurer). Cyril Blacket, Mesdames R. Bowhey, F. Ford,, Misses Beryl Adams and Myrtle Hall were other members. The first function, a social evening of games, concert items, cards and dancing raised 5 pounds.
